4W8X Update (23-Dec): The 4W8X DXpedition is over. On Monday, 04-Dec-2023, at 04:59z the last contact went in the log.
Club Log and OQRS: All incoming messages regarding missing contacts have been settled. If you still miss contact(s) with 4W8X, please let us know.
Our callsign 4W8X has been pirated every now and then. Eventually you didn't work us, but the pirate(s).
However, if you once "saw" your contact on Club Log and later it had disappeared, of course we should have a look again.
Else, please request your 4W8X paper QSL card and LotW confirmation here.
Many Thanks for all the contacts. We hope you enjoyed our activity as much as we did. 73 and seasons greetings from DL6FBL and the team.

Schedule

Focus in the first days is on assembling as many antennas and station setups as possible.

In those first days we will eventually only operate after local sunset, and without a fixed schedule (possible time frame 09:00z thru 15:00z). (The second half of the local nights we'll need for sleeping/recovery to be able to continue antenna work in the morning).
Eventually we'll keep the 160m CW station active throughout the night and until after local sunrise.

When all antennas and stations have been set up and the rest of the team has arrived on site, we'll provide a full 24/7 service on as many band/mode combinations as possible.
Please also see the other notes below the table.

Other Notes

4W8X will have a total of 19 or 20 operators. Due to personal restrictions, not everybody can afford to be on site for the whole time. Still acting as a group with a common goal, we are enabling all team members to throw in as many days to the operation as they can afford. There are daily flights between 4W and Bali/Indonesia, and one weekly flight between 4W and Singapore. This gives quite some flexibilty for people coming and going. Our QTH is about 40 minutes away from the airport, so even this "last mile" can be handled comfortably.

CQ Worldwide DX Contest CW on 25./26. November is a very important event for us. We'll put a high emphasis on this contest and encourage everyone to work us (again) in CW on the classic bands during the contest!

After the contest we will start to dismantle antennas and stations, and prepare everything to be re-packed in the seafreight container. While dis-assembling the station we'll still keep up a few antennas, and remain active with a few signals.

Most team members will leave 4W on Thursday, 30-Nov-2023, in the early morning. Three brave souls (DF7TH, DL3DXX, DL6FBL) will stay on-site for one more week - to make sure that the seafreight container is safely going out on the way back home. They will keep 3 radios and 3 small amps, together with some small antennas to make sure that even the last guys will make it in the log who didn't have the chance in the four weeks before.
